The mission of Operations Excellence is to Create a sustainable competitive advantage for LF Logistics. We accomplish this by two means: designing and developing new and highly efficient logistics facilities and material handling solutions, and driving ongoing operational improvements through Continuous Process Improvement programs.
The regionally-based Operations Excellence team provides subject matter expertise for new DC facility design and construction and the design of the operational solutions that go inside the facility. This involves both the material handling equipment and the systems and processes to optimize the storage and handling of products.
The Operations Excellence team plays a key role in designing and developing all new facilities for LF Logistics. Leveraging our Value Engineering process, we ensure that all new construction projects deliver maximum capacity, highest efficiency, greatest safety and security, as well as environmental sustainability at the lowest possible cost.
By optimizing equipment layout and processes design, we help our in-country teams to deliver world-class solutions to our customers. Solutions are developed and simulated using a variety of applications such as AutoCAD, CLASS, and Slot3D to determine the optimal solution. We carefully consider capital investment, operating expense, flexibility and scalability. Our expertise and experience in designing solutions for the Footwear & Apparel, Food & Beverage, FMCG, and Retail industries is truly a competitive advantage for LF Logistics.
To ensure we remain competitive, a portion of our service offering focuses on what we call ‘Advanced Solutions’. We are always on the lookout for new and better ways to provide services to our customers. This often this involves new types of equipment or technology such as Pick-to-Light, Voice-directed, RFID, as well as automated material handling equipment.
Our team of engineers use global experience combined with analytical skills to develop “smart solutions”. Whether designing a new facility, leveraging new technology, or determining the optimal layout for a new customer, the Operations Excellence team provides cost-effective, innovative and scalable services to meet our customers’ unique requirements. Working closely with our LF Logistics in-country teams, Operations Excellence provides both training on Continuous Process Improvement methods as well as conducting process improvement assessments and recommendations at a country and customer level.
Operations Excellence designs and conducts learning and development programs to equip our frontline managers with relevant tools to make their operations more productive.
We enhance existing operations and improve current practices by executing our LF Logistics improvement methodologies and lean management tools, including bottleneck identification and root cause analysis to assess gaps in productivity or accuracy.
Working as an internal consultant group, we enable LF logistics to be more competitive in the marketplace by providing Process Excellence to both our customers, and our customers’ customers.
